David English, latterly Canon Division Manager, Photo/Video,  started his photo industry career at Hanimex, after working as a training manager at Nestles. He will be remembered by many as Divisional Manager for Hanimex Photographic Products, before joining H.Bleakley – the then distributer of Canon products in Australia in the mid 1970’s.

After a spell as Sales Manager, the company was purchased by the rank organisation, and in 1979 became Canon Australia. He continued as Photographic Division Manager until his retirement, passing over the reins to Ian Thresher, his long-time sales manager. He retired from Canon in the mid ‘80s and during recent years  lived on the South Coast where he enjoyed a small hobby farm.

David will be fondly remembered as someone who had a great dry sense of humour, formed from his early years in England, and enjoyed nothing more than lunch out with the boys. He worked tirelessly for the betterment of the industry and was a PIC board member for a number of years. He will be much missed.

David's funeral held on Monday 16^th August at 11:00am at the Shoalhaven Crematorium Memorial Gardens and Cemetery, Worrigee Rd, Worrigee.
