DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION – Sunday 11pm (EDT), 14 March 2010

Please submit early to avoid last minute congestion on the site

Total value of prizes is now approximately $50,000

Prizes from leading industry brands will be awarded for the best images. These include: Canon, Adobe, Drobbo, LowePro, NEC, SanDisk, Dragon Image, Datacolor, Caldera, basICColor, ACDSee and Focal Press.

Judging will be done anonymously; no identifying detail will be visible by the judges in order to ensure that the selection is not affected by the celebrity of the photographer or the subject of the photograph.

Finalists’ work will be selected by National Gallery of Victoria Senior Photography Curator Isobel Crombie, award winning photographer Anthony Browell, picture editor and VU agent Isabelle Rouvillois and Head On curator Moshe Rosenzveig. The ‘Critic’s Prize’ will be selected by photography critic Robert McFarlane.

About Head On Photo Festival

The inaugural Head On Photo Festival will take place in Sydney from  April 29 - June 5.

The festival is an exciting initiative involving many galleries, restaurants and cafes around Sydney exhibiting local and international photography of all styles and genres. Other than exhibitions the festival will feature numerous events for anyone interested in photography including a two-day seminar, a mini trade show and a series of multi-media screenings.

Head On has been running on a very limited budget raised through entry fees and thanks to the goodwill of many people. It has been supported by Canon, Adobe, Sandisk, Focal Press, ACDSee, MailChimp, Gekko Images, Pixel Perfect Prolab, Arthere, Agileware, Frankel Lawyers, Lowepro, Momento, ColourProcess, Dragon Image, Kayell, Le Bukhara, Shaw Vineyard Estate, National Art School, Griffith University, AIPP and the Australian Centre for Photography.
 
The Head On Foundation is a non-profit organisation aiming to promote photography through cultural activities. The Foundation has established a fund to benefit the community.
